Matt McNeff is an infamous cast member from the first era of the season. He entered Season 1 wearing a beanie, purple sweater, and a desire to stir the pot. McNeff was one of the many to put Sean on blast for his fake idol.
As Purple Tribe kept winning, McNeff was focusing his attention on supposed challenge beast John. And when the tribe finally lost, he set his plan into motion. However, Matt tried to orchestrate a plan on McNeff while the rest of the tribe voted Jen. After tribal, McNeff shrugged it off and took a nap, leaving the entire Purple tribe to make a plan to vote him out next. Once the tribe lost the next round, McNeff was blindsided thinking that Sean was the majority vote. But it was him who was sent home unanimously.

McNeff returned for Season 3 as a Favorite, where he utilized his second chance to his fullest. For the first couple rounds, McNeff played the middle with Anthony - gaining the trust of tribe leader Matt Orischak and tribe target Cam Godin. After losing their first challenge, McNeff fed information to Cam about his blindside prompting the plan to use Anthony's idol to save him and send Matt home. From here, McNeff, Anthony, Cam, and Andre ran the game gaining information from both fans and favorites.
At the first merge, McNeff gained Carly Divis' trust which he used for insight on the fans. At the swap, he found an idol and told Carly about it at the merge. However, he gave it to Cam, who proceeded to burn it to send Marc home.

McNeff then convinced Anthony to share the idol he held so he could further convince Carly of his deception. Anthony let him borrow it, but McNeff still gave it to Cam who burned it again to send Carly home. From then on, McNeff laid low and sent Fans and Favorites home - eventually turning on his alliance with Andre and Anthony. He found himself in the Final 3 with Cam and Santana, but was unable to win the jury over after his deceptive and manipulative game and lost with zero votes in the end.

He has one of the best returning games in the show's history and proved he was a capable player after his Season 1 outing.
